Every shipment carries a lot code that traces back to the corresponding in-process control records.
Traceability is the documentation that lets your incoming QC team — or an auditor — answer "where did this part come from" in less than five minutes. Wolfer's lot system ties every shipped part back through inspection, heat-treatment, cutting, and material origin.
Default record retention is 10 years. Customers in regulated industries (medical, aerospace) sometimes request longer retention — we accommodate on request.
If a customer ever finds a defective part, the lot code on the label is the entry point into the full record. We have used this system to identify a single defective process lot out of 200 lots shipped in a year — and to confirm that only 8 customers received parts from that lot.
Quality
STEP 01
EN 10204 3.1 mill certificate on every part lot. Heat number traceable to the steel mill.
STEP 02
CNC program version, operator ID, machine ID, date logged per part lot.
STEP 03
Furnace run number, temperature profile, hardness verification. Attached to lot.
STEP 04
Tool wear log, in-process dimensional check.
STEP 05
CMM trace + gear-inspection center output (for gears). Lot-coded.
STEP 06
Lot code printed on each part label. Recall trace from label → part → all 5 records above.
